Olivia Hebert became the second Edgewood College softball student-athlete to secure College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Recognition as he received Third Team honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
Hebert, a senior from Middleton, Wisconsin, becomes the second in Edgewood College softball history to secure Academic All-America honors, joining Karri Roh (1995-96). Her selection marks the 23rd time an Eagle in any sport has been named an Academic All-American.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team honors players who achieve success both on the field and in the classroom. Hebert had a strong senior season for the Eagles, earning her fourth First-Team All-NACC honors. The senior led Edgewood College in 10 offensive categories, hitting .439 on the season with a 1.253 OPS and .772 slugging percentage. Hebert totaled 31 runs scored, 54 hits, 20 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 31 RBI. Behind the plate, Hebert caught 15 runners stealing and picked off seven runners. The senior holds the Eagles career records in runners caught stealing, runners picked off and doubles.
Hebert was phenomenal in the classroom during his time with the Eagles. The biology and environmental science major carries a cumulative GPA of 4.00. She was named NACC Scholar-Athlete three times and will make that same list later this summer. Hebert has previously been named Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete and CSC Academic All-District.
Only 33 players across the country are named to the CSC Academic All-America Teams in Division III for softball. Hebert is one of three players from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with Concordia Wisconsin's Jess Pozezinski and Emma Woodhouse from Dominican University being named to the Second Team.
