Five Eagles Earn All-NACC Women’s Lacrosse Honors

MILWAUKEE – The Edgewood College women's lacrosse program was represented in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse awards, announced by the league office Monday. Five Eagles were recognized as Lauryn Brown and Emma Raupp were named First Team All-NACC, Christina Eloe picked up Second Team All-NACC, and Rachel Unitan and Zoee Pond were named Honorable Mention recognition. 

Lauryn Brown

Brown continued to hold down the Eagles defense. The sophomore led the team with 32 caused turnovers. Brown picked up 52 ground balls and collected 54 draw controls on the season. Brown added 11 goals and two assists on the offensive end of the pitch. 20 of Brown's caused turnovers came in conference play, including a whopping six in a win over Cornell College.

Emma Raupp

Raupp continued to serve as the backbone of the Eagles attack, finishing second in the conference in goals per game at a 5.89 clip. Raupp finished third in the conference in points per game, recording a 6.33 mark. Raupp currently tied for third in Division III in total goals (90), fifth in shots per game (10.47), and fifth in free position goals per game (1.47). Raupp added a team-best 79 draw controls on the season. The senior collected 28 ground balls and caused 17 turnovers.  

Christina Eloe

Eloe was a dominant force in the Eagles midfield, recording 66 draw controls on the season. The junior added 34 goals, which is second best on the team and dished out three assists. Eloe led the Eagles with 64 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers. In conference play, Eloe totaled 30 draw controls and scored 16 goals.

Rachel Unitan

Unitan was a dynamic force on the attacking end of the field, posting 30 assists in conference play, which was second-best in the NACC. The graduate student averaged 3.33 assists per game against conference opponents. On the season, Unitan recorded a team-best 46 assists and scored three goals. On four different occasions, Unitan dished out five or more assists.

Zoee Pond

Pond was a dominant force in net for the Eagles in conference play. The senior posted a 47.3 percent save percentage in conference play, which was third best in the conference. Pond finished fourth in goals against average, with a mark of 9.67. On the season, Pond collected 166 saves, averaging 9.76 saves per game.

NACC Champion Lake Forest College secured three major awards, including Attacker of the Year – Jenna Doctor, Defender of the Year – Savannah Frauhiger, while the Foresters head coach Casey Ryan and her coaching staff were chosen by their peers as Coaching Staff of the Year. Maya DeGeorge of Beloit College landed Midfielder of the Year. Olivia Dahlberg of Aurora University was named Freshman of the Year, while her Spartan teammate Rachel Wickey claimed Goalkeeper of the Year.
