Vivian Guerrero has been named to the D3hoops.com Region 8 Third Team, the website announced Tuesday morning.
Guerrero becomes the third-ever Edgewood College women's basketball player to earn D3hoops.com All-Region honors, joining Alysssa Lemirande and Megan Scheele. Scheele was a three-time First Team selection, securing the recognition during the 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09 seasons. Cindy Mierow (1990-91, 1991-92) and Deb Boomsma (1986-87, 1987-88, 1988-89) were NAIA All-Region picks for Eagles women's basketball as well. Â
Guerrero earned the honor after being named NACC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-NACC. The Lake Mills native led the conference in blocks averaging 1.7 per game and totaling 44. Guerrero also ranked first in the NACC with 251 total rebounds, averaging 9.7 per game. Guerrero led the Eagles with 11.8 points per game, shooting 46.4 percent from the floor, 67.7 percent from the free throw line, and 31.3 percent from three-point range. She added a team-best 62 assists on the season. Guerrero totaled 11 double-doubles on the season. Guerrero eclipsed the 1,000-career rebound and point mark during the 2024-25 season, becoming just the third Eagle in program history to record both marks.
Olivia Rangel of Carroll was named the Region 8 Player of the Year and was one of five players on the First Team. Mia Smith (Illinois Wesleyan) was honored as Coach of the Year and Krystyna Manzanarez (Aurora) was chosen as the region's Rookie of the Year.
Guerrero was one of two NACC players to secure Third Team honors. Margie Stevens of Wisconsin Lutheran College was named Third Team as well.
