MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's soccer team has been recognized on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Ben Brody, a junior defender and Maverick Van Laanen, a senior goalkeeper landed honors for their performance on the field, and outstanding work in the classroom.
On the pitch, Brody (Madison, Wisconsin) was a key member of the Eagles dynamic defense. The junior was named NACC Defender of the Year as well as First Team All-NACC. Brody owned one goal and one assist while backing a defense that only allowed nine goals on the season.
In the classroom, Brody is a psychology major. He holds a cumulative GPA of 3.57.
Van Laanen (Green Bay, Wisconsin) finished the 2025 season as First Team All-NACC and Goalkeeper of the Year. The senior allowed just seven goals on the season and posted a school record 0.45 goals against mark.
In the classroom, Van Laanen is a criminal justice major. He holds a cumulative GPA of 3.58.
