Men's Cross Country

Cross Country opens season at Rock River Invite

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Eagles cross country team opened their 2024 schedule on Friday evening at the Rockford Rock River Invite. Six Eagles competed in the 5K race hosted my Rockford University, with Beloit, Eureka, and Kishwaukee College also competing.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maya Thompson led Edgewood College on the women's side, finishing the race in a time of 21:45.8. Freshman Ella Arenz followed her to finish fourth with a time of 22:42.7. Hadley Hackinson came across the finish line in 27:40.5 to finish in 11th place.

- Brett Cox led the men's team, finishing the 5K distance in 19:51.7. Nick Pacubas finished the first race of his collegiate career in 14th place, crossing the finish line in 20:21.5. Kadin Wojick finished the race in 20:45.5 to place 16th.

THE RACE
- Rockford took the win on the men's side, with two runners finishing in the top five. Beloit earned the win on the women's side.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will run at the John Kurt Invite hosted by Wartburg College on Saturday, September 7. The women's race is set to begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's race at 10:45 a.m.
