HOW THEY GOT HERE
- The Eagles reached the quarterfinals via a
92-86 win over Rockford University on Saturday. Three Eagles finished with double-doubles, led by
Jake Schroeckenthaler's 35 points and 12 rebounds.
Avery Lyons added 10 points and a career-best 14 assists, while
Eli Hartjes scored 24 points and secured 10 rebounds. That loss put the Eagles at 0-6, but they are 11-7 since having rebounded nicely from a challenging early season schedule.
- The Cougars had a bye in the opening round.
They won a share of the NACC regular season title by finishing with an 11-6 league record. CUC tied with Concordia Wisconsin and St. Norbert atop the conference standings and earned the No. 1 seed thanks to a 2-1 record in games against the Falcons and Green Knights this season.
LAST MEETING
- Edgewood College and CUC
played on December 1 in what was the NACC opener for both teams. Concordia Chicago picked up an 82-58 win. Schroeckenthaler led the Eagles with 22 points and nine rebounds, while
Caden Nelson scored 18 points. Jalen Meeks scored 15 points off the bench to lead Concordia Chicago.
NACC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
- The Eagles are now 12-10 all-time in NACC Tournament games after Saturday's win over Rockford. Last year, Edgewood College reached the NACC North Final (the league was split into divisions last year due to COVID-19). Edgewood College has
won one NACC Tournament Championship (2011-12).
- The Cougars are 1-3 in the NACC Tournament all-time. Last year, the qualified for the NACC South Tournament, their first tournament appearance since the 2011-12 season. The one win was over Edgewood College, a
71-60 final in Madison, Wisconsin exactly 12 years to the date of Wednesday's matchup (February 23, 2022).

- Schroeckenthaler leads the NACC in scoring (21.2 per game) and rebounding (10.9 per game). He also has the most double-doubles in the NACC this season with 15.
- Hartjes ranks third in the conference in both scoring (19.8) and rebounding (9.5).
- Concordia Chicago is led by Jordan Matthews, who is averaging 14.9 points per game on 49.9 percent shooting, including 38.8 percent from 3-point range. Matthews leads the NACC in steals per game (2.1).

NACC Tournament Update
- With the quarterfinal games being moved to Wednesday, the semifinals will now be played Friday and the final on Sunday. The winner of the Eagles and Cougars battle will take on the winner of Illinois Tech/Marian on Friday at 7 p.m. If CUC wins that game will be played in River Forest, if Edgewood College wins, the winner of Illinois Tech/Marian will host.
- The bottom of the bracket features quarterfinal matchups between No. 2 Concordia Wisconsin versus No. 7 Benedictine and No. 3 St. Norbert against No. 6 Wisconsin Lutheran.
