Eagles in Second Place After Two Rounds of NACC Championship

KOHLER, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Golf team is through two rounds of the NACC Championships. The Eagles are in second place after competing in the first two rounds at Blackwolf Run Meadows Valley Golf Course. The final two rounds will take place next weekend at Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora, Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College was in third place after shooting a 310 in round one, but the Eagles handled the difficult conditions Monday better than most teams to move up to second place. The Eagles recorded a 318 on Monday. Aurora University is comfortably in first place with a team score of 602 over the first two rounds with the Eagles 26 shots back at 628. - Both Matthew Davidson and Jake Schroeckenthaler are tied for ninth on the leaderboard. Davidson shot a 76 on Sunday before carding an 81 on Monday. Schroeckenthaler recorded two rounds in the 70s and was one of the few players to improve from Sunday to Monday. He opened with a 79 before carding a 78 on Monday. Davidson had three birdies on Sunday and one on Monday, while Schroeckenthaler has three birdies through two rounds, all on the front nine.

- Josh Hentrich is tied for 16th after two rounds. He opened with an 81 and followed that up with an 80 on Monday. Hentrich has four birdies through the two rounds, two each day.

- Ryan Beck rounded out the Eagles lineup with rounds of 89 and 83, respectively. He birdied the par-4 fifth on Monday.

THE TOURNAMENT
- Team leader Aurora also has the top two golfers on the leaderboard. Scott Boyajian leads, shooting a two-over 146 through two rounds. His teammate Jack Vercautren was the only player to shut under par in either round, carding a 71 on Sunday before falling one shot back of Boyajian with a 76 on Monday.

- After CUW in third place, Marian (637) is in fourth, St. Norbert (648) in fifth, and Benedictine and Wisconsin Lutheran are tied four sixth with 649. MSOE (656), Dominican (686), and Lakeland (709) round out the team leaderboard.
