KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's golf team competed at the Midwest Region Fall Classic Friday and Saturday at Brighton Dale Links. The Eagles opened the tournament with a 310 on Friday. Edgewood University moved up the leader board five spots after carding a round-two score of 304 for a total score of 614 and a 25th place finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Josh Potter led the Eagles, carding a 151 (+7) to finish in a tie for 68th place. Potter carded a 74 in round one. Potter recorded 13 pars and a birdie on Friday. The junior carded a 77 in round two.
- Drew Gunderson posted a 155 (+11) to finish in a tie for 115th place. Gunderson was consistent, carding rounds of 78 and 77 on the weekend.
- Noah Frederickson finished in a tie for 133rd place with a career-best 156 (+12). Frederickson's best came in round two, when he posted a career-best 74 that featured three birdies and 10 pars.
- Isaac Vogel carded a career-best 158 (+14) in the meet. Vogel career-best 76 came on Saturday and featured four birdies and seven pars. Vogel claimed back-to-back birdies on holes two and three on Saturday.
- Brooks Luttinen rounded out the Eagles lineup with a 159 (+15). Luttinen opened the meet with a four over par 76 on Friday. Luttinen closed out Saturday with an 83.
- Brayden Olstad competed as an individual for the Eagles, carding a career-best 163 (+19). Olstad put together rounds of 79 and 84 on the weekend. Olstad's round of 79 featured four birdies, including back-to-back birdies on 13 and 14.
THE MEET
- Aurora University claimed the team title with a three under par 573. The Spartans carded a three under 285 on Friday, following that up with a 288 on Saturday.
- Kashton Wilson of Aurora claimed medalist honors, carding a seven under par 137. Wilson carded a six under par 66 on Friday, followed by a one under par 71 on Saturday.
