RACINE, Wis. - The Edgewood College women's tennis team dropped their regular season finale at Carthage, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Eagles have won 10 or more matches for the 12th season in a row.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Eagles dropped their third straight going into the NACC tournament semifinals on May 6, but lost a pair of close matchups in defeat
-Alyssa Carew and partner Sydney Verbauwhede narrowly lost at No. 1 doubles after going the distance, 9-8 (9-7)
-Carew nearly pulled out a third-setter at No. 2 singles, but ultimately fell, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8
-Carew finished the season with the most singles wins (13), doubles wins (12), and overall wins (25) on the team
FOR THE OPPONENT
-Carthage won for the sixth time in the last seven matches
-The Lady Reds also beat their third straight opponent by the score of 9-0 that also includes NACC opponent MSOE
NEXT UP
The Eagles will face either #3 MSOE, #4 Marian, or #5 Wisconsin Lutheran in the NACC Tournament Semifinals at Nielsen Tennis Stadium (Madison) on Sunday, May 6. The Eagles earned a first round bye after finishing second in the NACC regular season standings.
