WAVERLY, Iowa – Women's Tennis returned to action Friday as they continued to prepare for the NACC Tournament. They traveled to Iowa to take on the Wartburg Knights. The Knights (19-9) got the better of the Eagles (14-9) in a 6-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wartburg paved the way in doubles with a 6-3 victory over
Hattie Plenty/
Evelyn Taylor in no. 1 doubles and a 6-1 final against
Lauryn Krober/
Sophia Perret in the second slot.

Kaitlyn Narkis battled valiantly in the third slot but conceded a 7-5 result.
- In singles, Taylor got back on track with a hard-fought 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) win in no. 1 singles. Plenty fell 6-1, 6-1 in the second slot.
- Narkis conceded a 6-1, 6-0 final in the fourth slot, before Krober dropped a 6-0, 6-0 tally in sixth billing.
- Ekkela hung tough but lost 7-5, 6-4 in the fifth slot.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Taylor's victory in singles tied the all-time wins mark in program history. Her 126 victories matches Anna Miles (2012-16) and Kelsey Steinhorst (2006-10).
UP NEXT
Edgewood University will host a pair of matches at home to conclude their regular season slate. They will take on the Carroll Pios and UW-Oshkosh Titans next Sunday, April 19. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
