MADISON, Wis. - The Edgewood College women's tennis team finished the regular season on a high note with a 9-0 win over Beloit College and a 6-3 victory over the University of Dubuque in pristine conditions at Quann Park on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Eagles dominated their penultimate regular season game in their fourth 9-0 victory of the season
-Both Alyssa Carew (No. 2 singles), Sydney Verbauwhede (No. 3), and Haley Brooks (No. 5) all swept their singles matches 6-0, 6-0, while the other three singles players lost just four games combined
-The pairs of Carew/Verbauwhede and Picard/Swift won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, 8-0, respectively
-With a win over Beloit, the Eagles stopped a six-game skid
-Despite having six wins against University of Dubuque, only Haley Brooks won both of her matches at No. 3 doubles with Alexa Lindsay, 8-3, and at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-3
-The duo of Carew and Verbauwhede lost their closest doubles match of the season at the No. 1 slot with a 9-8 (12-10) defeat
-Jaclyn Swift battled, but ultimately fell in an entertaining three-set match against the Spartans at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 2-6, 10-5
UP NEXT
The Eagles have a couple weeks off before facing the winner of MSOE and Alverno in the NACC tournament semifinals on Sunday, May 7. The Eagles received a first round bye in the NACC tournament, which will be held at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, after claiming the No. 2 seed with an 8-1 conference record last fall.
