Edgewood College baseball spring trip preview (.pdf)
MADISON, Wis. - The Edgewood College baseball team wakes from their long winter slumber this week for their annual season opening spring trip. The Eagles will play Sewanee-The University of the South on the way to the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. Edgewood College will meet seven different opponents in Florida, all of whom have at least a .500 record.
The Eagles game at Sewanee will have live video available, but there will be no direct coverage of any of the Eagles games in Florida. Follow @EdgewoodEagles on
Twitter and
Instagram for coverage of the Eagles spring trip.
Edgewood College leads the all-time series against the University of Dubuque 5-3, although the two teams haven't met in over a decade. The Eagles faced Skidmore College in Florida in 2013, dropping a doubleheader to the Thoroughbreds by scores of 6-5 and 8-7. Edgewood College has never beaten Skidmore in three all-time meetings. Augustana defeated Edgewood College 4-3 in Florida in 2015 in the only meeting between the two schools. Edgewood College split a doubleheader with UW-Stout last year for their first ever win in five games against the Blue Devils. The Eagles have never faced Sewanee, Western Connecticut State, Illinois College or New York University in their history.
