ORLANDO, Fla. - Sophomore Jaclyn Swift and freshman Sydney Verbauwhede won the Edgewood College women's tennis team lone match in an 8-1 defeat to Berry College (Ga.) in their Orlando spring break opener on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Swift and Verbauwhede dominated their No. 2 doubles match with an 8-1 victory and improved to 2-0 as a pair this season
-Verbauwhede lost at No. 3 singles in the most dramatic match of the day, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4
-Alexa Lindsay was competitive at No. 4 singles, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-Swift, who has played 17 of her 19 doubles matches with Haley Brooks, paired up with Verbauwhede for her sixth doubles win in the last seven matches
-Verbauwhede, who normally pairs with Marissa Wilson, also kept her winning play going and improved to 5-1 over her last six doubles matches
