HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College played the Red Men of Carthage tough and realistically had a chance to pull out one or two more wins in the dual. Jaime Benavides and Andrew Martinez gave Carthage's Chris Conley and Lukasz Jaworski all they could handle at No. 2 doubles before falling 8-6.
- In singles play, Brandon Glock got the Eagles on the scoreboard by winning his second straight match. Glock topped Carthage's Justin Gdaniec 6-2, 6-2.
- New transfer Sabastion Seeger claimed his first singles victory as an Eagle, taking a marathon 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 win by outlasting Oscar Irazoque in a match tiebreaker.
- Martinez nearly pulled out another point for Edgewood College, but fell to Jaworski in a match tiebreaker forced beyond the 10-point limit. Jaworski prevailed over Martinez 2-6, 6-3, 14-12.
- In their second match, Edgewood College couldn't keep up with a rested Lake Forest College team. Brian Davenport played in the two closest matches. Davenport teamed with Evan Stone for a 8-3 loss at No. 1 doubles, and then fell to the Foresters' Dan Pivonka 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.
