COUNTRYSIDE, Ill. – Men's Tennis kicked off NACC action down in Illinois Friday morning. They took on the Concordia Chicago Cougars. After dropping the doubles point, the Eagles (7-10, 1-0 NACC) rallied for a 5-2 victory over the Cougars (0-11, 0-1).

Marek Woytasik claimed a 6-2 victory in no. 1 doubles, Concordia Chicago bounced back for the point. They took down

Jon Olafsson in no. 2 doubles 6-3 and
Ryan Casey/
William Faley in no. 3 doubles 6-2.
- Olafsson set the tone in singles. After conceding a 6-4 opening set, he roared to life to claim a 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory in no. 1 singles. Hutchcroft followed up with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win in the second slot.
- Woytasik and Hoffmann kept the ball rolling as the Cougars had no answers. Woytasik won 6-0, 7-6 in the third slot, while Hoffmann cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 result in fourth billing.
- Casey put a bow on the victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the fifth slot. Faley conceded a 6-2, 6-2 loss in no. 6 singles.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Edgewood University has won 12 in a row over Concordia Chicago.
- For the first time since returning to team action in 2022-23, the Eagles won their NACC opener.
