Eagles prep for 10 games at Gene Cusic Classic

Jacob Yellovich
After a season-opening cancellation in Memphis, the Edgewood College baseball team is ready to open their 2016 season on Sunday at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Eagles will play 10 games from Sunday to Friday before making the long drive back to Madison. This will be the fourth straight season that the Eagles will play in the Gene Cusic Classic.

Johns Hopkins and Pitt-Bradford will provide live stats for those games. Follow @EdgewoodEagles on Twitter for updates as we receive them. All Eagle home games this season will be broadcast live. Links for all coverage are on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.

Among their six opponents, the Eagles have never played Lasell, Pittsburg-Bradford or Amherst in their history. Johns Hopkins is 3-0 all-time against Edgewood College with their most recent meeting coming in Fort Myers in 2013. The Eagles met Plymouth State for the first time last season, sweeping the Panthers 9-2 and 12-3 in a doubleheader. The Eagles are also 0-3 against UW-Stout, with the Blue Devils sweeping a doubleheader last year, by scores of 8-2 and 6-1.
