2015-16 NACC Men's Golf Championships Results (through 1st and 2nd rounds)
GREEN LAKE, Wis. – Edgewood College's seven-shot lead after the first day of the 2015-16 NACC Men's Golf Championship shrank to a two-stroke advantage after Sunday, but the Eagles turned in yet another solid round with a 22-over 310 at Lawsonia Golf Course Sunday, just one stroke shy of their first-round total. Wisconsin Lutheran sits in second place while Lakeland College sits in third and trails the Eagles by 25 strokes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Eagles shot a 309 on the first day thanks to three top-10 performances. Senior Kyle Bruce's 75 (+3) was good for a tie for 2nd overall while sophomore Zach Hentrich was tied for 5th (77, +5) and Nathan Gilbert tied for ninth (78, +6).
-Gilbert, a sophomore from Fort Atkinson, Wis., then flew to the top of the leaderboard with a one-under 71 on Sunday and is now tied for first overall with a 36-hole total of 149.
-Fellow sophomore Zach Hentrich also improved on day two, as he shot a 74 on Sunday and is now third overall with a two-day total of 151.
-Bruce remains in the top-10 after an 83 on Sunday to push his two-day total to 158.
-Brooks Johnson (79-84) and Alex Wedige (82-82) round out the Eagles lineup and are tied for 19th and tied for 22nd, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
-Gilbert's 71 on Sunday was the lowest score out of any individual and it was the lowest score of his career. His previous low was a 72 just last weekend at the MSOE Invitational.
-Gilbert moved up eight spots from day one to day two, which ties for the second-largest leap out of any player in the tournament. Wisconsin Lutheran's Sean Esenberg moved up 12 spots to a tie for sixth after firing a 74 on Sunday.
-Hentrich has now shot a 75 or lower in six of his last seven rounds. He also hasn't finished lowered than third place in each of the last four competitions, including the first two rounds of the conference championships.
FOR THE OPPONENTS
-Wisconsin Lutheran's Jacob Mortell sits tied atop the leaderboard with Gilbert. He shot a 77 in round one and a 72 in round two.
-Marian's Ryonen Faris and Lakeland's Kellen Syse are tied for fourth overall at a 10-over 154.
UP NEXT
-The 2015-16 NACC Men's Golf Championships will resume in the spring on April 24-25, 2016. Dominican will host the final two rounds, which will take place at Stonebridge C.C. in Aurora, Ill.
