HILTON HEAD, Wis. – Despite not playing since September 28, 2013, the Edgewood College women's tennis team did not miss a beat. The Eagles won their 13th straight match after downing Greenville College 9-0 and Alderson Broaddus University 6-3 to begin their spring trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Edgewood College (14-3) had no trouble in their first match, cruising through the Panthers 9-0. Ellie Wilkie had an impressive morning, sweeping No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 and pairing with Sarah Rendon at No.3 doubles to down the opposition 8-0.

The Battlers proved they were not just a nickname as Alderson Broaddus pulled ahead 2-1 after doubles. The only doubles match the Eagles won was by default at No. 3 pairs. Singles was a different story as the Eagles won five of six games. Morgan Wilson and Anna Miles won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while Laura Olsen and Brooke McBain took No. 4 and No. 5. Senior Kristen Boone earned a win by default in the sixth spot.

Edgewood College will look to continue their streak against Millsaps College on Wednesday, March 12. The Eagles have four total matches remaining on their spring trip.
