MILWAUKEE, Wis. – With two more victories on Saturday, the Edgewood College women's tennis win Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win streak reached 30 matches. By topping Alverno College 8-1 and Wisconsin Lutheran College 9-0 the Eagles also cemented their sixth consecutive outright conference title.
Edgewood College (11-3, 10-0 NACC) cruised through their morning match against the Inferno, sweeping all three doubles. The closest match was in the No. 3 slot with Ashli Paulson and Sarah Rendon earning an 8-2 victory. In singles play, Alverno College's (1-13, 1-8 NACC) Laeren Yates earned a win at No. 4 singles, but the Eagles dominated the rest of the way, taking the match 8-1.
After lunch, Edgewood College headed over to New Berlin to take on Wisconsin Lutheran. The Eagles headed in to singles play with a 3-0 lead after the doubles competition. Kristen Boone had the toughest match at No. 3 singles, but after the Warrriors' Kayln Geddes evened the match 1-1, Boone took the tiebreaker 11-9. The sweep was the Eagles' sixth of their conference schedule.
Edgewood College has now completed their schedule for the fall and will return to action in the spring. The NACC Tournament will also be a part of the spring schedule.
