AURORA, Ill. – The Edgewood College women's tennis team remained undefeated in league play and clinched a berth in next spring's NACC Tournament with a pair of conference victories on Saturday. The Eagles defeated Benedictine University 7-2 in the morning match, and then downed Aurora University by the same 7-2 score.

Edgewood College (9-3, 8-0 NACC) played without their top two singles players as Morgan Wilson and Anna Miles were competing in the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional, but missing players didn't slow the Eagles. In the early match against Benedictine University (4-7, 4-6 NACC), Edgewood College rolled through doubles play lead by Laura Olsen and Brooke McBain scoring an 8-5 victory in the No. 1 position. The Eagles only losses in singles play came in match tiebreakers, as Ellie Wilke, Olsen and McBain each won in straight sets.

The Eagles stayed perfect in doubles with three wins over Aurora University (8-3, 8-2 NACC) in the later match. Edgewood College is now 24-0 in doubles play against the NACC for the season. Ashli Paulson and Kristen Boone pulled out an 8-4 victory over the Spartans' Andrea Pacheco and Jordan Hankes in No. 3 doubles. Wilkie, Boone, McBain and Sarah Rendon all claimed singles matches in straight sets.

Edgewood College has now won 27 consecutive NACC dual matches dating back to the 2011 season. The Eagles can clinch at least a share of their sixth straight NACC championship if they can win at Rockford University on Tuesday afternoon.
