Eagles fly south for nine-game spring trip

Brandon Bartels
The Edgewood College baseball team escapes south for warmer weather and a menu of challenging opponents on their annual spring trip. The Eagles will face NCAA Division II member Christian Brothers University on their way down Thursday, before playing eight games in seven days in Fort Myers, Florida.

Christian Brothers will have live stats for Thursday's game. The link is posted on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. For games in Florida follow on Twitter at @EdgewoodEagles. Edgewood College will videocast and provide live stats for most home games.

The Eagles are 1-2 against Christian Brothers with last season's meeting being wiped out due to rain. Edgewood College's win came in 2004. Bethel and the Eagles split a doubleheader at the Metrodome in 2006 but haven't played since. Edgewood College and Skidmore have met only once, a 10-0 win for the Thouroughbreds back in 1997. Johns Hopkins has beaten the Eagles twice, sweeping a 2004 doubleheader. The Eagles have never played either Principia College or Haverford College.
