BELOIT, Wis. – For the fourth consecutive game this season, the Edgewood College men's soccer team was locked in a game that was decided by one goal. In a back-and-forth game against Beloit College, the Eagles came away with their second consecutive 1-0 win.

The Buccaneers (2-1) came into Saturday's game winning their first two games of the 2012 season, and scoring a combined five goals in those contests. The Edgewood College (2-2) defense proved they were up to the challenge and goalkeeper Kyle Wood grabbed six saves in his first collegiate start. The Eagles locked down Beloit's offense for their second shutout of the year.

The game was knotted at halftime 0-0, and the Eagles held a slight lead in the shot column 6-5. Just four minutes into the second half, forward Thini Messan found Andrew Aurit who netted the game's first and only goal. Aurit has scored two goals in four games this year, which matches his total from all of last season.

By the end of the game, the Buccaneers were leading the shot total 14-12 and had three more corner kicks than the Eagles, but could not figure out Wood in goal.

Paul Domann and Kelmend Isaj each had two shots on goal for Edgewood College while opponents Jackson Wilkins and Marc Robinson accounted for five of the Buccaneers six shot attempts at the net. Opposing goalkeeper BJ Kiser had six saves for the Buccaneers.

Edgewood College will look to win their third consecutive game when they host Lake Forest College on Wednesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m. Live video and live stats will be available for this game. These links can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
