MADISON-Wis.- After a tough season opening loss two days ago, Edgewood College came out attacking the goal, hoping for a better result on Sunday against St. Norbert College. The Eagles assaulted the goal all game totaling 14 shots, but unfortunately did not convert on any of those opportunities. The Green Knights scored a second half goal and took the game 1-0 at Breese Stevens Field.

The Eagles (0-2) have had good success against the Green Knights (2-0) in the past few years, winning the last three matchups, but were not able to keep the streak going. The game turned out to be very physical with the referees handing out 29 total fouls. Although the scoreboard read 0-0 at half, the game was not that equal. Edgewood College had harassed the goal in the first half and led the shot total 8-1 at the break.

In the second half, the Eagles continued to hound the defense with four shots on goal, but could not put one in the net. At the 70 minute mark, another foul was handed out and St. Norbert was awarded a free kick near midfield. St. Norbert's Andrew Hull served it into the box where Marc Popp was able to get a piece of it and head it past Eagle goalkeeper Chad Stivers for the only goal of the game.

The Edgewood College defense played well and kept the Eagles in the contest, only allowing two shots on goal all game.

Sophomore Kelmend Isaj led the attack for the Eagles with four total shots and two of them on goal. Fellow sophomore Dane Donnelly contributed to the team total 14 shots with two of his own.

The Eagles will host Ripon College this Friday. Kick off will be at 7:30 p.m. at Breese Stevens Field. Edgewood College will provide live video and live stats for the game. Those links can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
