Eagles make strong spring debut at IWU Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's golf team launched their spring quest for an NCAA Tournament berth with a strong showing at the Illinois Wesleyan University Spring Invitational. The Eagles shot 612 to finish sixth out of 24 teams. Edgewood College was just 10 shots off the lead in the competitive field.

Andrew Cobb led the way, earning all-tournament honors be tying for fourth place. Cobb shot a 2-over par 74 on Friday and 1-over par 73 on Saturday for a two-day total of 147. Newcomer Kenneth Rucker placed cracked the top 20 with a score of 153.

Tyler Cobb shot a 76 on the first day and finished in 42nd place with a score of 157. Logan Kranz bounced back from a tough first day with a 77 on day two for a 159. Brent Quade rounded out the squad with a 161.

Nebraska Wesleyan and St. Francis (Ill.) shared the team championship with matching scores of 305-297-602. Edgewood College will return to action next weekend at the Ripon College Lawsonia Invitational on Saturday.
