MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team sent their seniors out in style in the Eagles' final home game of the season with a 3-0 victory over Maranatha Baptist Bible College. With the victory, Edgewood College secures the No. 5 seed for the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament which begins on Sunday.

In a highly entertaining game, the Edgewood College (9-6-1, 7-4 NAC) broke through in the 18th minute. Senior Paul Domann sent a ball into the right half of the penalty area where Kelmend Isaj fired a hard, low shot on net. The shot eluded Crusader goalkeeper Kyle Kutz for Isaj's third goal of the season and a 1-0 Eagle lead. Edgewood College outshot Maranatha Baptist (8-10-1, 3-7-1 NAC) 10-7 in the first half, but didn't extend their lead until the second half.

The Eagles applied pressure early in the second half and it finally paid off in the 54th minute. Alexander Ribeiro passed to Isaj and then streaked up the middle of the field. Isaj returned the ball in stride and Ribeiro beat the Crusaders' substitute goalie Tyler Holley to score his second goal of the year.

The third Eagle goal was similar to the second as Domann and Andrew Aurit connected on their own give-and-go in the 64th minute. This time, it was Aurit who punched the shot through Holley's legs for a 3-0 lead and his team-high ninth goal of the season.

Matt Dammen played the first 70 minutes in goal for the Eagles and made three saves to preserve a shutout. Kyle Wood finished up the final 20 minutes of the match. Dammen earned the win to even his record at 3-3 on the season.

As the fifth seed for the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament, the Eagles know they will be on the road for Sunday's first round, but the team doesn't know their opponent yet. If Aurora beats Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night, the Spartans will secure at least the third seed and the Eagles will play the loser of Concordia University Wisconsin and MSOE's season finale. If Aurora ties or loses to the Warriors, then the Eagles will travel to Aurora University on Sunday. Game times and a complete bracket will be posted at EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com as soon as they are available.
