MADISON, Wis. – Only one more win Northern Athletics Conference win is needed for the Edgewood College men's team to reach clinch a spot in the conference tournament, but although the Eagles fought hard, they did not get that win tonight. Edgewood College dropped a close contest to Concordia University Wisconsin 1-0 under the lights.

Like they have many times this season, Edgewood College (7-6-1, 5-4 NAC) played a tough first half and went into the locker room with a 0-0 score at the half.  The Eagles were outshot 8-4 in the first 45 minutes, but put three of their attempts on the net. Matt Dammen got the start in goal for the Eagles and grabbed five saves in the first half to keep Concordia Wisconsin (9-6, 7-1 NAC) from scoring.

Edgewood College had to play down one man after a red card was handed out to an Eagles player. In the 65th minute, the Falcons had a good chance in front of the net and touched a shot that looked to be a goal but Dammen made a terrific save with an outstretched foot to keep the game scoreless. In the 73rd minute Kyle Sytsma crossed a ball to the center that flew over two jumping Eagle players and found Aaron Pope who struck it towards Dammen. The ball struck the post, but snuck in the goal and the Falcons grabbed a 1-0 lead.

In the last 20 seconds, Edgewood College pressured the goal and fired a shot, but it was blocked out of bounds. The Eagles were awarded a corner kick and with time running out, sent it in the box. The ball was jostled around but the Eagles were unable to find the equalizing goal.

Dammen grabbed a season high 11 saves in a great effort in the goal for the Eagles, but couldn't quite get to Pope's shot. Sam Ische snagged four saves for the Falcons.

Edgewood College will try to escape their two game losing streak and get the win they need to reach the conference tournament as they play Rockford College this Saturday. Live stats will be provided. This link can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
