RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team breathed some life into their chase for a Northern Athletics Conference Tournament berth with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Concordia University Chicago on Saturday. The Eagles moved back to .500 in conference play after holding on to a 2-1 halftime lead through the entire second half.

Concordia University Chicago (1-12, 0-7 NAC) drew first blood with an unassisted goal from Kyle Joss in the 17th minute of play. Edgewood College (5-5-3, 3-3-1 NAC) responded almost immediately. Sam Quinones scored just seconds into the 20th minute of the game. The equalizer was the third goal of the season for Quinones.

It appeared the two teams would share the lead into halftime, until freshman Jacob Overman intervened. Overman took a pass from Kelmend Isaj and scored the go-ahead goal with just 19 seconds remaining before halftime. The tally was the first goal of Overman's collegiate career.

The Edgewood College defense held the Cougars at bay through most of the second half. The only real danger came in the final minute when a header by Manny Valdez off a Concordia Chicago corner kick was put on the frame. However, Eagle goalkeeper Robert Huss made the save to preserve the victory. Huss made two saves for the victory.

The Eagles face a tall task on Tuesday night. Edgewood College will travel to Milwaukee for a 7:00 p.m. match against MSOE. The Raiders are currently tied for second place in the league.
