Quade wins second consecutive tournament

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – Senior men's golfer Brent Quade continued to impress, winning his third tournament of the season and second in a row. Quade shot 67-70 at the MSOE Invitational to take the tournament title and lead the Edgewood College men's golf team to a third place finish of 11 teams.

Quade posted a four-under, 67 on the first day to take a four stroke lead heading to the second day. He followed that with a two-under 70 to win the tournament by nine strokes over Ben Brooks of UW-Eau Claire who shot 146. Quade's two-day total of 137, as well as his 67 on day one are the lowest total's in Edgewood College history, based on available information. The tournament win marked the Monroe native's third victory of the season and second consecutive win. He won the Culver's Edgewood College Fall Classic and the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational.

Following Quade was Andrew Cobb and Tyler Cobb. The duo both tied for 13th place with 154's. Andrew Cobb shot 79-75 while Tyler Cobb shot a pair of 77's. Patrick Bohrer and Mike Battista rounded out the Eagles' squad with scores of 161 and 163, respectively. Borhrer shot 80-81 and Battista posted scores of 81 and 82.

Logan Kranz golfed as an individual and placed 21st after shooting 76-80 for a total of 156.

Edgewood College posted a tournament score of 606 after shooting 303 on both days to finish in third place. Carthage College won the tournament with a 601 and UW-Eau Claire placed second with a score of 602.

The Eagles conclude their fall season next Sunday and Monday when they participate in the Northern Athletics Conference Fall Championship. The event is held on The Irish Course at Whisling Straits in Haven, Wisconsin.
