Edgewood College returns to the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament after a one-year hiatus. The Eagles won four of their last five NAC matches to nab the fifth seed and set up a first round match with Aurora University. The Eagles had played in 18 straight postseasons until missing out by one point in the NAC standings last season.

Aurora University holds an 4-1-2 all-time record over Edgewood College, including a 3-1 victory at Vago Field on September 24. In that match, the Spartans opened a 3-0 lead before Sam Quinones scored in the 63rd minute for the Eagles' only goal. The Eagles only over the Spartans was a 2-1 victory in 2009. The Spartans and Eagles have met one time previously in the postseason, playing a NAC Tournament semifinal in 2007. After a 1-1 draw, the Spartans advance with a 3-2 shootout victory.
