First Half Goals lift Eagles past Sabres in NACC Tournament Quarterfinal

VERONA, Wis. – Four first half goals gave Edgewood University a NACC Tournament Quarterfinal victory on Saturday. The top-seeded Eagles faced the eighth-seeded Sabres of Marian University at Edgewood University Field. The Eagles scored all four goals in just 36 minutes on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Connor Gage put Edgewood University (15-1-2) on the board just 9:50 into the first half. Gage's goal assisted by Liam Moreira.

- Just two minutes later, Cristian Torres-Gale netted his seventh goal of the season. Torres-Gale converting passes from Ben Brody and Brandon Kaup in the box to put the Eagles up 2-0.

- Anthony Campos was the third Eagle to score on Saturday, as his second goal of the season came in the 15th minute.


-  It was right place right time for Gavin Lewis to score his first goal as an Eagle. Lewis finding the back of the net in the 37th minute, assisted by Riley Kann and Conor Bruce.

- Edgewood University outshot Marian University (5-10-4) 31-4 on Saturday. The Sabres put two shots on net, both coming in the first half of action.

- Maverick Van Laanen collected two saves in the first half for Edgewood University. Connor Farrell and Tyler Hall split time in net for the Sabres. Farrell posting six saves in the second half of action.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- For the second-straight season, the Eagles have won the NACC Tournament Quarterfinal at home and will host the NACC Tournament Semifinal

- The Eagles now own a 2-2 record in the NACC Tournament under head coach Tim Bruner.

- Edgewood University will host fourth-seeded MSOE on Tuesday, November 4. Action is set for 6:00 p.m. from Edgewood University Field at Reddan Park.
