Falcons, Regents stand between Eagles and playoffs

Brad Swenson
The Northern Athletics Conference men's soccer race is about as tight as it could possibly be with just four points separating fourth place from eighth place. Only the top six teams will qualify. The Eagles could get a huge bump this week with a match at second place Concordia Wisconsin and a senior date with Rockford.

There will be no live coverage of Wednesday's match in Mequon. Edgewood College is tentatively planning to have live video for Saturday's home match against Rockford. Check back later this week for a final decision. Live stats links are available on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.

Edgewood College's rivalry with Concordia Wisconsin represents one of the Eagles' closest all-time series. The Eagles lead 17-16-2 and are 5-2-2 in the last nine games against the Falcons. CUW won last year's contest 2-1 at Breese Stevens Field. Saturday will be the 10th all-time meeting between Rockford and Edgewood College. The Eagles have won seven straight matches, averaging 4.7 goals per game. The Regents last won in 2001 and last scored a goal against the Eagles in 2002.
