ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Edgewood College men's golf team improved their score on Saturday by three shots over Friday's total, but still slid from eighth to ninth place at the Augustana College Invitational. The Eagles shot 319 on the first day and a 316 on the second day for a two day total of 635.
Brett Quade had the Eagles' lowest round on each day, shooting a three over par 76 on Friday, followed by 77 on Saturday. His total of 151 placed him 13th among 85 golfers. Mike Battista broke 80 each day, shooting 79-77-156 to place 29th. Aaron Gavin shot matching 81's on each day for a 162. Mark Fields and Logan Kranz rounded out the squad with a 166 and 168, respectively.
Carthage College won the invitational with an 11 over par 587, edging St. Ambrose University by three strokes.
