SAINT PETER, Minn. – Women's Tennis battled at the ITA Midwest Regional and Gustie Invite this weekend. In individual action,
Gabby Schmidtmann and
Sarah Emory advanced to the second round of their Gustie Invite draws. In doubles,
Hattie Plenty and
Kaitlyn Narkis reached the second round of the ITA Midwest Regional.
ITA MIDWEST REGIONAL
- In singles, Plenty conceded a 6-1, 7-5 result to Sadie Dakay from MSOE.
- In doubles action, Plenty/Narkis took down Jose Rondestvedt/Jessi Griepentrog of Ripon in an 8-4 showing. They fell 8-2 to Maia Samuelson/Lauren Lindow of UW-La Crosse in the second round.
GUSTIE INVITE
- Emory won a thriller in her first round battle. She took down Tessa McGlenn of Lawrence 4-1, 0-4, 1-0 (10-6). She bowed out to Delaney Hanson of UW-Eau Claire 4-0, 4-1.
- Schmidtmann also earned a win in a tense affair. She defeated Emily Blom of Central 5-4 (1), 2-4, 1-0 (10-6). In the second round, she conceded a 4-0, 4-2 result to Jordan Miller of Carthage.

Sophia Perret lost 4-0, 5-3 to Anna Key of Gustavus Adolphus in her draw. Paula Sendele of St. Scholastica knocked out
Maya Connaughty 4-0, 4-0.
- Narkis fell to an impressive comeback from Valentina Huesca of Carthage. She lost 0-4, 4-0, 1-0 (13-11).
- In doubles action, Connaughty/Emory lost 8-1 to Behling/Steward from Concordia Wisconsin. Perret/Schmidtmann conceded a 8-1 result to Thompson/Wright of Gustavus Adolphus.

Edgewood University takes a break from action before heading into the final stretch of NACC play. They will take on Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday, October 10. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in Mequon, Wis.
