CHICAGO, Ill. – Women's Tennis picked up NACC action down south Saturday. They faced off with the Concordia Chicago Cougars and the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks. The Eagles (4-3, 4-1) blanked the Cougars (0-5, 0-2) 7-0, but conceded a 6-1match to the defending NACC Champion Scarlet Hawks (2-3, 2-1).
MATCH ONE: EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 7, CONCORDIA CHICAGO 0

Hattie Plenty and
Kaitlyn Narkis set the tone for the match in no. 1 doubles with a 6-0 win.
Sophia Perret and
Gabby Schmidtmann clinched the doubles point in second billing with a 6-1 final.

Maya Connaughty claimed the victory in the third slot 6-2.
- Narkis kept the ball rolling in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 final in the second slot. Schmidtmann followed with a 6-1, 6-1 tally in fourth billing.
- Connaughty clinched the match 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth slot. Plenty followed up with a strong 6-3, 6-1 showing in no. 1 singles.
- Perret and Emory put a bow on the sweep in third and sixth singles respectively. Perret won 6-1, 6-4 and Emory 6-1, 6-3.
MATCH TWO: ILLINOIS TECH 6, EDGEWOOD UNIVERSITY 1
- The Scarlett Hawks claimed a hard-fought doubles point. Schmidtmann/Perret dropped a 6-4 result in no. 2 doubles before Emory/Connaughty were edged out 7-5 in the third slot.
- Plenty/Narkis battled valiantly in the top slot but fell 7-6.
- In singles, Emory conceded the sixth slot 6-4, 6-3. Narkis fell 6-4, 6-2 in no. 2 singles.
- Perret battled in the third slot but lost 6-4, 6-4. Schmidtmann claimed the first set in the fourth slot before falling 3-6, 6-0, 6-0.
- Plenty put together an impressive rally in no. 1 singles, winning 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5). Connaughty fell 6-4, 6-3 in the fifth slot.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will take a break from NACC action for the ITA Midwest Regional next weekend. The individual tournament begins next Friday.
