ST. PETER, MINN. – Women's Tennis hit the road this weekend for the ITA Midwest Regional and Gustie Invite. The Eagles saw individual success in the event, with
Christina Ekkela and
Kaitlyn Narkis making deep runs in singles brackets.

Evelyn Taylor fell in a heartbreaker against Tristin Jantz of UW-Stevens Point. She lost 7-5, 7-5.

Hattie Plenty conceded a 6-4, 6-2 result to Greta Peterson of Carthage.
- In doubles. Taylor/Plenty advanced to the second round with an 8-2 victory against Lee/Borchard from Concordia MN. The pair dropped their second round match 8-2 to Pupovac/Trifilio of Carroll.
GUSTIE INVITE
- Ekkela made an impressive run to the third round of her draw. She took out Annika Dox of Cornell and Norah Brusco of St. Olaf by identical 8-4 margins to reach the semifinals. Allyson Yahn of Saint Benedict ended Ekkela's run with an 8-4 win.
- Narkis advanced to the second round of her pool with an 8-1 final against Sammy Mudra of Concordia Wisconsin. She edged out Hailey Reuvers of UW-River Falls in a 8-7 (7-3) thriller. Her run came to an end in the semifinals, dropping a 8-1 result to Jemima Vitou of Gustavus Adolphus.

Baylee Knott lost 8-1 to Shireen Durrani of Concordia MN, while
Stella Pacholke was knocked down 8-3 by Olivia Walter of Concordia MN.

Lauryn Krober and
Sophia Perret rounded out the singles performances at the invite. Kathryn Jonas of UW-Superior eliminated Krober 8-3, while Shayla Draper of Hamline outlasted Draper 8-6.
- In doubles action, Perret/Krober pushed ahead to the second round with a 6-4 victory over Clark/Crotez of St. Scholastica. Their invite came to an end against Kim/Perkins of Grinnell in 6-1 fashion.
- Ekkela/Narkis earned a bye into the second round of their pool, but dropped a 6-1 result to Briggman/Platt of UW-Eau Claire. Knott/Pacholke wrapped things up with a 6-1 defeat against Persian/Trapp of Grinnell.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will return home to roost for the last time this season on Sunday, October 5. They'll take on Illinois Tech and Concordia Chicago in a NACC doubleheader. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Quann Park.
