COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Women's Volleyball wrapped up their stay at the Pikes Peak Challenge Saturday. They took on the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds, ranked No. 22 in the AVCA preseason Division III poll. The Blugolds (3-1) impressed in a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) victory against the Eagles (1-2).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- While UW-Eau Claire rolled out to a 5-2 start, the Edgewood University offense pulled them ahead 6-5 with four unanswered. Matching runs would leave the two squads tied 13-13 halfway through the first set. The Blugolds took full advantage of Eagles mistakes for a 7-2 run to help pull away and close out the first set.
- UW-Eau Claire found the win at their back in the middle of the second set. After leading 10-8, an 8-2 barrage helped put the second frame out of reach. The Blugolds outhit Edgewood University .433-to-.188 in the middle set.
- The two squads wrestled for control of the third frame as the Eagles looked to stay alive in the match. While Edgewood University led 19-18 late, UW-Eau Claire found an extra gear to close out the match on a 7-2 sprint.
- Bailey Leeke and Abby Stanwood formed an impressive tandem on offense for the Blugolds, each tallying 14 kills. Leeke hit .464 while Stanwood posted a .333 hitting percentage.
- Hannah Thole and Alex Kiebel contributed 18 and 19 assists respectively.

Kate Gunderson earned 10 assists, two aces, and six digs.

The Eagles will head home to open the Todd Wehr Edgedome for the 2025-26 school year Wednesday. They'll host the Elmhurst Blue Jays with first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
