Eagles open season hosting Culver’s Edgewood University Fall Invitational

JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood University men's golf team opened their 2025-26 season hosting the Culver's Edgewood University Fall Invitational at Glen Erin Golf Club. 21 teams represented by 16 schools battled it out on opening weekend. The Eagles "A" team finished with a score of 633, landing them in 15th place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Newcomer Drew Gunderson impressed in his first collegiate tournament, pacing all Eagles with a 156 (+14). Gunderson carded an 80 on Friday before improving to a 76 on Saturday. The freshman carded 20 pars on the weekend, including 13 in round two. Gunderson was a consistent presence on the Eagles "B" squad in the opening weekend.

- Charlie Huerth opened his sophomore campaign with a 157 (+15). Huerth carded a 79 on Friday before combining two birdies and nine pars for a 78 on Saturday. The sophomore's consistent rounds put him in a tie for 54th overall.

- Raymond Jordan posted a two-round score of 157 to finish in a tie for 54th place with Huerth. Jordan opened the weekend with a 77 before carding an 80 on Saturday. Over the weekend, Jordan carded four birdies and 18 pars.

- Josh Potter remained consistent for the Eagles carding a 159 to finish in a tie for 64th place. Potter's best round of 78 came on Friday behind two birdies and nine pars.

- Peter Haideman and Jacob Frederickson rounded out the Eagles "A" team lineup. Haideman carded a 160 that featured a 76 on Saturday. Frederickson posted a 166 to finish in a tie for 90th place.

- The Eagles "B" squad held their own over the two days of competition, finishing with a 666. The team saw a three-stroke improvement in round two.

- Noah Frederickson carded a 160 in his first collegiate round. The freshman carded a 77 in round two, making a six-stroke improvement from round one.

- Isaac Hill carded a 169 in his first round as an Eagle. Hill carded rounds of 84 and 85 to finish in a tie for 95th place.

- Jack Vesperman and Joe Huskey rounded out the Eagles "B" squad with scores of 181 and 183, respectively.

THE TOURNAMENT
- The University of Dubuque shot a four under 564 to claim the team championship. UW-Stout finished runner-up with a total score of 576 (+8).

- John Dobbe posted a 10 under par 132 to win medalist honors. Dobbe carded a 68 on Friday before improving to 64 on Saturday.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood University will compete at the Judson University Fall Invitational on Friday. Action is set for 12:00 p.m. from West Dundee, Illinois.
