Kylee Doherty and Ayden Price competed at the UW-La Crosse and Augustana in hopes to qualify for the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. Doherty represented the Eagles in the throwing events, while Price competed in the 200-meter dash and long jump.
UW-LA CROSSE UNCAGED EAGLE OPEN
- Price competed in the 200 meter dash at the Uncaged Eagle Open on Friday, May 9. Price finished 10th in the event with a time of 21.85. The freshman added a school-record distance of 6.77 meters in the long jump to finish 16th in the event.
- Doherty competed in the shot put, discus, and javelin at the Uncaged Eagle Open. The junior set the school record in the shot put with a distance of 12.94 meters. Doherty added a fourth place finish in the discus with a mark of 44.19 meters. She rounded out her day with a fifth place mark of 37.50 meters in the javelin.
- Keilley Riddle also competed for the Eagles in the discus (32.94 meters) and javelin (23.54 meters).
UW-LA CROSSE FINAL QUALIFIER
- Price competed in the 200-meter dash on Wednesday, May 14. The freshman ran a time of 21.98 to finish fourth in the event.
- Doherty competed in the shot put and discus. The junior's 12.04 meter mark in the shot put was good for ninth place. Her 42.43 meter throw in the discus put her in fourth place overall.
AUGUSTANA MIDWEST TWILIGHT QUALIFIER
- Doherty, not satisfied with her discus mark was determined to make her mark in the event. The junior traveled to Augustana on Thursday to compete in the shot put and discus throw for one more chance to qualify in the events.
- Doherty posted a first place finish in the discus with a mark of 45.31 meters. She added a 11.59 meter mark in the shot put to finish 19th.
UP NEXT
- Final selections will be announced Friday for individuals competing in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 22-24. Action will take place at SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio.
