ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Edgewood College women's track & field team opened the 2025 outdoor season at the Viking Olympics hosted by Augustana College. Kylee Doherty finished second in the Javelin Throw on Saturday, while seven Eagles collected PR times.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kylee Doherty posted the second best throw in the Javelin on Saturday at Augustana. Doherty's distance of 37.58 meters was the third longest distance in school history. Keilley Riddle posted a distance of 27.04 meters to finish 12th in the event.
- Riddle led four Eagles in the Discus Throw. The sophomore posted a distance of 34.84 meters to finish in 11th place. Doherty finished 15th with a distance of 33.37 meters. Kayla Miotk (32.38 meters) and Allison Foley (14.77 meters) also competed in the event for the Eagles.
- Maya Thompson posted a PR time of 13:02.70 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday. Thompson finished fifth in the event.
- Stephanie Resendiz led a trio of Eagles in the 100-meter dash. Resendiz posted a PR time of 13.49 to finish ninth. Lauren Mesa posted a PR time of 13.62 to finish 12th. Emma Miller added a personal-best time of 13.91.
- Isabella Pescador competed in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles on Saturday. Pescador set a time of 18.64 in the 100-meter hurdles to finish eighth. The freshman added a personal-best time of 1:21.23 in the 400-meter hurdles.
- Resendiz posted another PR time in the 200-meter dash. The sophomore's time of 28.29 was good for 13th in the event. Mesa (29.09), Miller (29.34 -PR), and Kayla Kerkman (29.68) also competed in event.
- Miotk (10.82 meters), Riddle (8.31 meters) and Foley (7.64 meters) competed in the Shot Put on Saturday.
- Emily Austin and Ella Arenz represented the Eagles in the 1,500-meter run. Austin ran a time of 5:49.30, while Arenz came across the finish line in 6:00.30.
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Jordan Lawson, Mesa, Resendiz, and Miller finished fourth with a time of 53.94.

- Edgewood College will travel to UW-Platteville on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 to compete in the UW-Platteville Invitational.
