MUNDELEIN, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's golf team competed at the Forester Spring Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles carded a 631 team score, their lowest 36-hole team score of the spring season. Edgewood College finished the tournament in 18th place of 20 teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Raymond Jordan led the Eagles, carding a 149 to finish in a tie for 42nd place. Jordan opened the tournament tying his career best mark of 72 (E). Jordan's Friday score came via four birdies. The junior closed out the tournament with a 77 (+5) on Saturday, recording 14 pars in the second round of the tournament.
- Brooks Luttinen recorded a career-best finish in round one, a 76 (+4). The junior posted two birdies and 11 pars on Friday. He closed out the tournament with a 79 (+7) for a two-round score of 155. Luttinen finished in a tie for 75th place overall.
- Charlie Huerth was next in line for the Eagles, carding a 162 to finish in a tie for 93rd place. Huerth opened the tournament with an 84, before improving by six strokes to a 78 on Saturday. Huerth recorded a birdie and 13 pars in Saturday's round.
- Jacob Frederickson finished with a two-round score of 165. Frederickson recorded eight pars for an 83 on Friday. The junior carded an 82 on Saturday.
- CJ Prosser rounded out the Eagles lineup. Prosser recorded a 166, his career-low 36-hole score. Prosser carded an 84 on Friday, before improving by two strokes on Saturday to an 82. The senior recorded two birdies on the back nine in round two.
THE MEET
- Aurora University won the team title, shooting a 15-under par 561. The Spartans carded a 282 (-6) on Friday and a 279 (-9) on Saturday.
- Tyler Wengronowitz of host Lake Forest College earned medalist honors with a 10-under par 134. Wengronowitz carded a 68 (-4) before improving by two strokes, 66 (-6) on Saturday.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will compete at the St. Norbert College Invitational on Monday, April 21. Action is set for 12:30 p.m. from the Green Bay Country Club.
