WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's track & field team competed at the Green & White Invite, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Eagles posted seven top 10 times on Thursday as well as 11 personal-record performances.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kylee Doherty posted three top-five times on Thursday. The junior finished second in the javelin, posting a mark of 35.55 meters. Doherty added third place finishes in the discus (42.95m) and shot put (11.95m).
- Maya Thompson finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Thursday. Thompson's time of 12:48.37 was a personal-best mark.
- Kayla Kerkman finished fourth in the long jump. Kerkman leapt to a 4.99 meter finish, a personal-best mark.
- The Eagles 4x400-meter relay team of Kerkman, Lauren Mesa, Emma Miller, and Ella Arenz finished second. The team came across the finish line in 4:39.10.
- Jordan Lawson posted a ninth place finish for the Eagles in the 200-meter dash on Thursday. Lawson's time of 27.05 was a personal-best mark. Mesa added a PR time of 28.21. Miller added another PR in the event, a 28.96 finish. Isabella Pescador ran a 31.55, another PR.
- Stephanie Resendiz posted a PR time of 13.25 in the 100-meter dash prelims. Lawson (13.28), and Pescador (14.99) added personal-best times in the event. Kerkman added a time of 13.87.
- Arenz competed in the 400-meter dash for the first time. The freshman ran a 1:11.12 to finish 21st in the event.
- Pescador finished 11th in the 100-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 18.44; a personal-best mark.
- Allison Foley competed in the shot put and discus for the Eagles. Foley finished 29th in the discus with a PR distance of 16.74 meters. The freshman added a 7.14 meter finish in the shot put.
- Emily Austin represented the Eagles in the 1500-meter run. Austin's time of 5:51.62 was good for 12th place.
