MADISON, WIS. – Women's Volleyball kicked off a four-match homestand Thursday at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. They hosted the Marian Sabres in NACC action. The Eagles (15-6, 7-0 NACC) extended their win streak to six with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-4, 32-30) victory over the Sabres (1-19, 0-6).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 10-2 burst early in the opening frame had Edgewood University in control of the opening set. Marian would never get close as the Eagles held them to three kills and a -.185 hitting percentage on route to a 25-14 victory.
- The Eagles dominated in the second set.
Nida Zukauskaite held serve for 16 straight points while Edgewood University recorded a .700 hitting percentage as a team, swinging for 14 kills with no errors on route to a 25-4 victory.
- The Eagles rolled ahead 7-1 in the third set and kept the Sabres at bay, but the visitors would find their footing late. Down 17-9, a 15-4 offensive showcase powered Marian to set point. The squads would wrestle over extra points, trading kills until Edgewood University finished off the sweep.
- The Eagles had a 47-to-16 advantage in kills and a .289 to -.020 edge in attack percentage.

Natalie Murphy held down the fort at the net with five and four blocks respectively.

Katie Borchert posted eight kills and six digs on the evening.

Kate Gunderson earned 12 assists and a pair of aces.

Edgewood University will look to keep rolling as they host a tri-match on Saturday. They will take on the Rockford Regents and the Carroll Pios at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. First serve is scheduled for noon.
