Dubuque, Iowa – The Edgewood College women's track and field team opened 2025 at the University of Dubuque Moco Mercer Open. Ella Arenz took home the win in the Mile run on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arenz posted a win in the Mile run on Saturday. Her time of 5:48.98 was best out of the eight in the field. Maya Thompson added a strong third place finish in the event with a time of 6:03.55.
- Four Eagles competed in the shot put on Saturday. Kylee Doherty led the group with a fourth place finish in the event. Her distance of 11.62 meters was the 10th longest throw in indoor program history. Kayla Miotk was next in line with an 11th place throw of 10.67 meters. Keilley Riddle posted an 8.46 meter distance to finish 16th. Allison Foley rounded out the event for the Eagles with distance of 7.79, a personal best.
- Doherty, Riddle, and Miotk competed in the weight throw in Dubuque. Doherty recorded the second longest throw in program history, a 9.64 meters to finish 13th. Riddle recorded a personal-record distance of 9.51 meters. Miotk added a PR throw of 8.65 meters.
- Jordan Lawson led the Eagles in the 60 meter dash prelims. Lawson finished 10th with a time of 8.51. Lauren Mesa competed for the first time for the Eagles, recorded a time of 8.71. Stephanie Resendiz came across the fnish line in 9.00, while Kayla Kerkman clocked in at 9.10.
- Resendiz (49.17), Lawson (49.51), Mesa (49.53), Kerkman (50.24), and Isabella Pescador (54.78) competed in the 300 meter on Saturday.
- Pescador ran a time of 12.06 in the 60 meter hurdles prelims.

- Edgewood College will return to Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday, February 1. The Eagles will compete in the Spartan Shootout, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
