LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team played their final tune-up of the fall season before the first two rounds of the NACC Championships. The Eagles competed on Sunday and Monday at the UW-Stout Invitational, held at Grand Geneva Resort. The Eagles finished in 17th place of 22 teams with a two-round total of 621.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Raymond Jordan paced Edgewood College with a two-round total of 151 (+9), finishing in a tie for 44th place. He opened the tournament with a 75 on Sunday, before carding a 76 on Monday. Jordan carded five birdies in round one.
- Charlie Huerth opened the tournament with his best round, a 76. He closed out the meet with a 77 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 52nd place with a two-round score of 153.
- Jacob Frederickson and Peter Haideman both posted total scores of 159 to finish in a tie for 87th place. Frederickson carded a 78 on Sunday, followed by an 81 on Monday. Haideman's best round of 79 also came on Sunday.
- Aidan O'Gara rounded out the Eagles scoring lineup with a 165. He carded an 85 on Sunday before improving by five strokes in Monday's round.
- Brooks Luttinen competed as an individual for the Eagles. He carded his best round as an Eagle, a 77 on Sunday. Luttinen added a 78 on Monday for a 155.
THE TOURNAMENT
- NACC foe Aurora came home with the team title at 575 shots across two days. The Spartans finished just one stroke ahead of UW-Eau Claire and eight strokes ahead of host UW-Stout.
- Carter Ruegsegger of Dubuque won medalist honors with an eight-under par 134. He posted rounds of 68 and 66 to win the tournament.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will compete in the first two rounds of the four-round NACC Championships next weekend. The meet will begin this fall at the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin. The first round will begin on Sunday, October 13.
