Box Score 2 SAINT PETER, MINN. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's tennis squad headed up to Minnesota this weekend. They competed in the ITA Midwest Regional and the Midwest Invite.
Evelyn Taylor advanced to the Round of 32 in ITA Midwest singles, while
Hattie Plenty and
Madelyn Connaughty reached the third round of the doubles consolation bracket.
ITA MIDWEST REGIONAL
- Taylor battled through to Saturday in singles. She took down Natalie Kaiser of Wartburg 6-0, 6-4 before punching her ticket to the Round of 32 with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) win over Michaella Sullivan. She battled with Shelby Roth of UW-La Crosse in a marathon of a match in round three, dropping a 6-4, 6-7 (7-3), 1-0 (10-8) final.
- Taylor paired up with Connaughty in doubles action, falling 8-6 against Jonas/Nesbit of Saint Benedict.
MIDWEST INVITE

Christina Ekkela battled it out with Chloe Struss of UW-River Falls, dropping a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (15-13) battle.

Sarah Emory lost 6-0, 6-0 to Allyson Yahn of Saint Benedict.

Kathryn Lauger duked it out with Emma Clift from St. Olaf in a 6-0, 6-7 (5-0), 1-0 (10-5) defeat.
- Caroline Hutchinson of Loras defeated Connaughty 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).

Cassie Henderson fell in a 6-4, 6-3 tally to Lily Homberg of St. Catherine.

Emma Dillon conceded a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Bethany Smith of Gustavus Adolphus.
- In doubles, Dillon and Emory lost an 8-2 final to Mohlenbrock/Yehle from Bethany Lutheran.
- Plenty and Lauger fell to Jones/Drew from UW-Superior in 8-2 fashion.
- Henderson and Ekkela battled to the bitter end, dropping an 8-7 (6) tally to Hanson/Briggman of UW-Eau Claire.
CONSOLATION BRACKET
- Henderson lost 8-0 to Liv Herzog of UW-Eau Claire. Emory was defeated by an 8-0 margin against Tristan Jantz of UW-Stevens Point.
- Hannah Helms of Saint Benedict edged out Dillon in 8-6 fashion.
- Ekkela and Lauger dropped an 8-3 decision to Trevathan/Haugen of Macalester in doubles.
- The tandem of Plenty/Connaughty excelled in their doubles draw. They won an 8-6 thriller against Gano/Murphy of Central in the first round, then advanced to the third round with an 8-5 win against Zink/Simon of St. Catherine in their second match. Their run would come to an end against Packer/De Young of Gustavus Adolphus with an 8-2 final.
UP NEXT
The Eagles will return to Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference action next Sunday as they wrap up their fall home slate. They will take on the Lakeland Muskies and St. Norbert Green Knights. First serve is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
