LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team competed at the Firebird Fall Classic, hosted by Carthage College on Monday and Tuesday. The Eagles carded a two-round total of 624, ending the meet in 11th place of 17 teams. The Eagles best score came on day one, carding a 20-over par 308 during Monday's round. The meet was held at Hawks View Golf Course.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Raymond Jordan and Aidan O'Gara led Edgewood College across both rounds, finishing in a tie for 23rd place. Both Jordan and O'Gara carded rounds of 74 and 79 to get to the two-round total of 153. The pair both posted four birdies in round one, three coming on the back nine holes. O'Gara's round-one total of 74 goes down as his career-best.
- Peter Haideman recorded a 78 on Monday, followed by a 79 in round two. His two-day total of 157 left him in a tie for 43rd place.
- Charlie Huerth improved by three strokes on Tuesday, carding a 79. He opened the meet with an 82, recording a total score of 161 to finish in a tie for 61st place.
- Colin Quam rounded out the Eagles lineup with a 173 to finish in a tie for 89th place. His best round came on Monday, an 85 that featured two birdies.
THE MEET
- Aurora University took home the team title, shooting a four-over par 580 over two rounds. Host Carthage College finished as the meet runner-up with a team total of 598.
- Caleb Negley of Aurora won medalist honors, carding a four-under par 140. He carded scores of 70 (-2) on both days of action.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will compete in the two-round WLC Fall Invitational, beginning on Saturday, September 14 from Hartford, Wisconsin. The Eagles will also compete at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational, beginning on Sunday, September 15 from Altoona, Wisconsin.
