JANESVILLE, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's golf team opened their 2024-25 season hosting the Culver's Edgewood College Fall Classic at Glen Erin Golf Course. 22 teams represented by 19 schools battled it out on opening weekend. The Eagles "A" team finished with a score of 615, landing them in 11th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Raymond Jordan impressed in the first outing of his junior campaign for Edgewood College. He opened with a career-best 73 before rounding out day two with a score of 75 to finish in a tie for 20th place.
- Charlie Huerth recorded a strong performance in his first collegiate tournament. The freshman was a picture of consistency, carding a 74 in both rounds of the tournament. He finished with a two-round score of 148 to place in a tie for 20th place.
- Aidan O'Gara posted a two-round score of 160 to finish in a tie for 72nd place. He opened with an 82 on day one and improved by four strokes in round two.
- Jacob Frederickson and Peter Haideman rounded out the Eagles "A" team lineup, both carding a 162 over two rounds. Frederickson opened with a 79 in round one, while Haideman posted his best round of an 80 on day two.
- Edgewood College's "B" squad held their own over two days of competition, finishing in a tie for 19th place with a score of 652. The team saw a six-stroke improvement on day two.
- Samuel Hjortland carded a 160 in his first collegiate round. Hjortland opened the tournament with a 79.
- Jack Vesperman was fairly consistent, carding rounds of 80 and 82 to finish with a 162.
- Joe Hussey was next in line for the Eagles, carding a 163. Hussey improved by seven strokes to a 78 in round two.
- Colin Quam and CJ Prosser rounded out the Eagles "B" squad with scores of 167 and 169, respectively.
- Jack Meunier competed as an individual for the Eagles, carding a 196 in his first collegiate tournament.
THE TOURNAMENT
- UW-stout shot a five-over par 573 to claim the team championship for the second-consecutive year. Stout's second team took home second place with a score of 581.

- Edgewood College will compete at Judson University on Friday, September 6. Action is set for 12:00 p.m. from Randall Oaks G.C. in Dundee, Ill.
