Eagles Women's Tennis Preview

The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team is heading into 2024-25 with a new look. After finishing last year with a 15-7, 8-1 NACC record and placing second in the NACC Tournament, the Eagles look to compete for the crown once again with an All-NACC player Evelyn Taylor and a core of returners joined by five newcomers.

“The first couple days of pre-season have been awesome,” said head coach Kevin Friend.  “With five out of nine new faces, there is definitely a different feel to the team. Our returners, Madelyn, Cassie, Evie and Christina have been doing a great job welcoming the new players to the team. I can already tell that we will have a tight knit group of players this season.”

Fall 2024 Women's Tennis Schedule

The Eagles are set to play 13 matches throughout the fall season as well as the ITA Midwest Regional. They start the fall slate with three non-conference matches, beginning with UW-Stout and Cornell College on August 31. After facing off with Buena Vista on September 1, they'll kick off NACC action with a trip to Marian to take on the Sabres on Saturday, September 7. Edgewood College will take on UW-Whitewater, defending WIAC champions, on Tuesday, September 10. In their home opener on Saturday, September 14 the Eagles will battle with MSOE in a NACC tilt. A trip to Concordia Wisconsin awaits on Saturday, October 5 as Edgewood College takes on the defending NACC champions. They will wrap up their fall and NACC slate with a road match at Concordia Chicago on Saturday, October 12.

“I am very excited to see how we are able to fare in conference this fall. Like our team, Concordia Wisconsin will have a lot of new faces as they graduated the same number of starters that we did last year. I also anticipate a few of the teams in the conference will keep improving. All in all, it should be a fun season for our women's team!”
