Year in Review: Women's Tennis

The Edgewood College women's tennis squad continued their strong stretch of play during their first year under head coach Kevin Friend. They finished as the runner-ups in both regular season and conference NACC play with a 7-1 record, and finished 13-9 overall.

The Eagles season would come to an end after a hard-fought NACC Tournament finals against top-seeded Concordia Wisconsin, falling 5-3 in the finals.

The women's tennis squad found success on and off the courts. Callie Belschner, Madelyn Connaughty, Maddie Coopmans, Christina Ekkela, Cecile Fuchs, Ellie Murphy, and Evelyn Taylor all earned NACC Scholar-Athlete accolades.

On the court, the pairs of Fuchs/Murphy and Coopmans/Lindwall earned All-NACC honors, with each individual being named to the singles team as well.

Sustained Success

The Eagles continued their strong history of NACC play as Kevin Friend entered his first season as head coach. In each of their seven wins over conference foes in the regular season, Edgewood College won by 9-0 margins. 

In the NACC Tournament, they continued their dominating play with a 5-0 sweep over WLC (April 28). While they fell in both match-ups to the eventual conference champions Concordia Wisconsin, they lost by the slimmest of margins in a 5-4 affair in the regular season and a 5-3 tilt in the NACC Finals.
