RIPON, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's track & field team opened its 2024-25 season at the Ripon Winter Open on Saturday. Kayla Miotk and Kylee Doherty led the Eagles with school records in the shot put and weight throw, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miotk recorded the longest distance in Edgewood College women's indoor track & field history in the shot put. Her distance of 12.00 meters was good for third place in the event. Doherty posted a fourth place finish in the event with a throw of 11.76 meters. Doherty's time was good for the fourth longest throw in indoor history. Keilley Riddle (8.59 meters) and Allison Foley (7.72 meters) also competed in the event.
- Eagles throwing debuted in the weight throw on Saturday. Doherty posted the Eagles best mark and school record in the event. The juniors 9.68 meter throw was good for 17th place in the event. Riddle competed for the first time in the event, posting a distance of 9.27 meters. Miotk added a throw of 7.66 meters on Saturday.
- Four Eagles competed in the 300 meter at Ripon. Stephanie Resendiz led the way with a 10th place finish of 49.17. Kayla Kerkman came across the finish line in 49.80, good for 11th place. Isabella Pescador (53.70) and Magnolia Adanhou (1:06.01) rounded out the Eagles lineup in the event.
- Resendiz posted a personal-best finish in the 60-meter dash prelims on Saturday. The sophomore's time of 8.85 led the Eagles in the sprints. Kerkman (8.99) and Adanhou (10.39) also competed in the prelims.
- Pescador competed for her first time in the 60 meter hurdles prelims on Saturday. The freshman finished 14th with a time of 11.69.
- The Eagles finished second in the 4x200 meter relay on Saturday. Emily Austin, Kerkman, Adanhou, and Ella Arenz clocked in at 2:09.75.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will return to the track on Saturday, January 25 at the University of Dubuque. The Eagles will compete at the Moco Mercer Challenge in Dubuque, Iowa.
